It rhymes with ‘Bono’
G’day, I’m Jono – a creative copywriter living amongst the sheep paddocks of regional Victoria and working both in Melbourne and remotely.
After doing everything from driving a truck to managing a daycare, I worked in journalism and publishing in Canada, America and the UK before finding my home in Australia – and in advertising.
Along the way, I picked up a few tricks and a lot of experience, which now goes toward producing ideas and crafting copy that entertains, inspires and most of all, persuades.
I reckon that coming into the game a bit later in life made me a rare sort of copywriter – seasoned, but still enthusiastic. I love this business, and now I can't imagine doing anything else.

From the humblest banner ad to the most high-profile 360° campaign, every brief is an opportunity to do something amazing. That’s what they told me in ad school, and in my experience it’s always held true.
Over the years, I’ve had a chance to do a bit of almost everything in the industry: full-scope product launches, scroll-stopping social campaigns, attention-grabbing out-of-home ads, websites that present information crisply and clearly, and emails that actually get read. And I’ve relished each task equally. I’ve even managed to have fun writing dry product disclaimers and nagging notes about keeping the office kitchen clean.
